Nora Chellew is a multidisciplinary artist born and based in Brooklyn. STATEMENT
“My work combines sculpture, installation, and original text. My aim is to create a space of displaced vestiges, where humor and decay are welcome. I conserve my pieces in accordance with their material ingredients and researched references. Drawing on the aesthetics of archiving, I treat titles and medium lists as integral parts of my work. I am inspired by: cataloging practices, worlding theory, set design, SFX craft, camp horror, chimeric folklore, queer history, Catholic mysticism, object power, carbon dating, ecological processes, climate catastrophe, and therapeutic tactics.”
