you also ought to wash one another's feet (also of animals and birds and creeping things and fish was part of the solo show Water Index. All pieces in the show were indexed by an annotated time frame. This particular work was listed under "Past, Biblical" (with the other categories titled: “Present, Body Politic,” “Future, Sapiens,” and “Reflection, Hypnosis.") The artist titled this work after two bible quotes; "If I...have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet," and "he spake of trees... even unto the hyssop that springeth out the wall; he spake also of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of fishes."

materials:
Unscented crystal soap, Choward’s violet mints, holy water, ribbon, hyssop, garden stones
process:
you also ought to wash one another's feet (also of animals and birds and creeping things and fish) consists of three lambs cast out of unscented soap. These foot-long soaps, each adorned with a different colored ribbon, were cast in an iron bakery mold (of a Catholic kneeling lamb) intended for Easter goods/sweets. They were rotated so as to achieve a hollow cast. Violet Mints (edible, but with a soapy aroma) were then placed in the hollows of the soaps, which are visible through tears in the skin of the soap. Hyssop was picked and dried in Pittsburg and placed by each lamb throughout the show.
