process:
Casting is a poem and a performance. It began as written prose with footnotes from library research on fossils and sculpture. It was transcribed onto the wall of the Gymnasium gallery using (various kinds of) charcoal and school stencils. It was also transcribed with voice onto a CD-Rom. The voice used is that of voice-actor Caroline Levy. Ms. Levy was compensated for her work on this project. The CD was played from a boom-box after the sun went down as gallery participants were encouraged to follow along with the wall text with flashlights (see last image).
